UPDATE:  For the latest information from Lincoln Tech, please visit our COVID-19 and Lincoln Tech page.

Dear Students and Families:

Predicting the path and impact of the coronavirus COVID-19 is extremely difficult.  Nevertheless, we are preparing to recognize the risk and have set up precautions for our school and our community.

Lincoln Tech has had no suspected cases of the coronavirus and has not been notified of any member of the campus community with the virus.  Working together, we can assist in keeping our schools and communities as healthy and safe as possible.  Therefore, we are providing you with resources that are available through the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).  Lincoln Tech will be monitoring the CDC website daily for any updates and we encourage you to do the same.

If you or someone you are in close contact with has traveled or will be traveling out of State or to an area of the world identified by the CDC for high risk such as China, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy and South Korea please notify your campus president or director of education at least 48 hours before you plan on returning to school.  We will work with you to determine appropriate timelines and processes for reentry to school/work.  Please visit the CDC website in the event additional countries are added to the list of high-risk areas: www.cdc.gov. You will find below, a number of frequently asked questions to give you a better understanding of the symptoms and precautions.

What are the symptoms of the COVID-19 virus?

Symptoms of coronavirus include, but are not limited to, fever, running nose, headache, cough, shortness of breath and the general feeling of being unwell; these are also symptoms of the common flu virus.

Does the CDC recommend the use of a facemask?

The CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19. You should only wear a mask if a healthcare professional recommends it. A facemask should be used by people who have COVID-19 and are showing symptoms. This is to protect others from the risk of becoming infected. The use of facemasks is also crucial for health workers and other people who are taking care of someone infected with COVID-19 in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).

How can I help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 and other viruses?

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.  If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. Stay well hydrated.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.  Avoid shaking hands.
  • Stay home when you are sick, especially with a fever.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Cough into your elbow.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
