Lincoln Tech Integrates CDX Automotive Training
In order to help students get an edge on the competition, Lincoln Tech is always looking to provide the most current information and educational tools. While numerous automotive technician jobs are available today, not just anyone can fill the role. Auto repair shops and garages are looking for skilled techs who know their way around each job from the start. Today’s employers don't have time to train a new hire from the bottom up. Hands-on career training from schools like Lincoln Tech helps graduates enter the workforce with experience working on a variety of vehicles. Having an automotive certificate from an accredited institution tells employers that these graduates have a leg up on the competition - and selecting a school that offers CDX Automotive training can be a key first step!
Still, there is always room for improvement. This year Lincoln Tech recently teamed up with CDX Automotive, the world’s leading provider of interactive and experiential automotive curriculum for light vehicle, medium/heavy truck and bus technician training. CDX Automotive training includes interactive animations, videos and more to give students firsthand experience with Automotive Technology skills before they’ve even popped a hood.
CDX Automotive Training Fits Many Learning Styles
The CDX curriculum includes an 11-section course on the Fundamentals of Automotive Technology, which includes skill drills and on-the-job tips in each section. When students see the value in what they are learning, their ability to retain the information increases. The fully integrated Light Vehicle system, for example, combines up-to-date NATEF content coverage with print, digital, and mobile tools that help to meet the needs of any learning style, and students can quickly put this information into practice.
Students can then move on from the theoretical to the practical and implement what they’ve learned through CDX in their on-campus auto bays. This collaboration is meant to increase the value of an automotive technology education by building each student’s confidence and competence. After training with an extensive program like CDX, students are able to tackle each job with ease and a sense of familiarity — even if it’s for the first time.
Students graduate from Lincoln Tech’s program as skilled entry-level technicians. In certain states, Associate Degree programs in Automotive Management are also available, and also feature the CDX curriculum.
The CDX curriculum is now offered with Automotive and Diesel training programs in East Windsor, CT; Mahwah, South Plainfield, and Union, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; and Nashville, TN. This component will be standard on all Lincoln Tech automotive training programs around the country by the Spring of 2016.
