Learning a skilled trade puts a person in the enviable position of having a career that cannot be outsourced overseas. When the need arises, someone with skill and knowledge is needed within hours. This applies directly to the field of electronics and electrical systems.
In twelve 90-hour class and lab modules, students can acquire the knowledge to launch them into a career in the electrical industry. Like many large industries, there are many capacities to work within, and this core education prepares the graduate to apprentice in two of the most popular: entry-level electrician and entry-level systems technician.
When you train at our Queens campus, you will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to become competent at wiring for high-voltage applications. In the low-voltage modules, you will learn how to install and repair the various systems that power the burgeoning smart-house industry.
Electrical and Electronic Systems Training Highlights
- Learn the principles of electricity and how it applies to electronics for consumer use.
- Study electrical wiring and control principles, and apply them in hands-on experience in the lab.
- Learn to install, test, and troubleshoot network cabling systems and voice/data systems.
- Security and alarm systems, telecommunications, and how they might work together as an integrated system.
- Build skills that help qualify you to become an entry-level residential electrician apprentice.
Upon graduation, you will have the opportunity to apply for a position with Johnson Controls, a global provider of integrated "smart" technology that powers more efficient and sustainable buildings and communities. Lincoln Tech is a trusted training partner of Johnson Controls, and the EEST program is taught using their equipment in classrooms sponsored by this technology leader.
