Lincoln Tech Celebrates 10-Year Partnership with Auto Dealers
As most automotive job seekers know, it helps to have a few friends in the industry. Whether you are an expert networker or you prefer to focus on refining your skills in the garage, having the Lincoln Tech name behind you will certainly help bolster your search for a technician career. This can be especially true in the Tri-State area, thanks to the long-lasting partnership between Lincoln Tech's Queens campus and the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association (GNYADA).
Lincoln Tech & Auto Dealers Celebrate Anniversary
In December, the career training leader and the renowned dealers’ network marked 10 years since a joint facility opened which housed Lincoln Tech and GNYADA’s Center for Automotive Education and Training (CAET). Since then more than a third of Lincoln Tech graduates have landed jobs with GNYADA member dealers – including major manufacturers such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Chrysler and more – while the placement rate for the Automotive Technology program at the Queens campus is better than 80%*. But it isn't just the students who win with this relationship. More than 600 dealerships in the association receive the first choice among Lincoln’s top Automotive Technology graduates for their open positions. Both parties end up with exactly what they want and need.
According to Lincoln President and CEO Scott Shaw, this is a partnership that will continue to thrive and help the industry grow. “We were selected by GNYADA over several other training providers when they were building their new facility,” said Shaw. “We saw it as a great opportunity to support our industry partners who needed well-trained professional technicians. And we knew it would mean rewarding, exciting job prospects for our students in the Tri-State area.”
With the technology on today’s new cars, trucks and SUVs evolving at a dizzying pace, hands-on experience and training is critical to starting a new career doing what you love. Today’s Automotive Technology careers are about a lot more than turning a wrench or rotating tires – and partnerships like the one between Lincoln Tech and GNYADA can give you the edge you need in learning about what makes 21st century vehicles tick!
