Lincoln Tech Grad Enjoys Career Success with Mercedes Benz
For 19 years, Anthony Christiano has enjoyed a successful career with Mercedes Benz of Manhattan – a career that has seen him work his way up from general technician, to diagnostic technician, to team leader, to Fixed Operations Manager, the position he holds today. He credits his education at Lincoln Tech in Mahwah, New Jersey for helping him build the skills he needed to break into the field.
Anthony recalls Nella Santangelo, the school’s Director of Career Services, encouraging him to accept a job with Mercedes when he was ready to settle for a dealership closer to home. “She knew Mercedes of Manhattan was a better fit for me,” he says. “I owe her a big kudos for pushing me. Maybe [if I hadn’t gone to Lincoln] my career would have gone differently.”
Anthony’s story is a great example of how you might begin your automotive career one way, but branch out in a new direction as you grow professionally and new opportunities present themselves. His journey started with a passion for working on cars, and it has led him to an exciting career with one of the world’s most renowned auto brands!
Coming out of Lincoln Tech’s Automotive Technology program is just the first step – you can use that experience to land your first job and then expand your role and become a Master Technician. You can also choose to move into customer-focused positions in sales and service, become a Service Manager, or, like Anthony, a Fixed Operations Manager. You just need the right foundation – and an open mind – to be constantly learning and looking out for the next opportunity!
“You invest in the tools in your toolbox to work on a new model car,” Anthony says. “But are you investing in your mental toolbox? You need to stay up to date.” Even after 19 years, he emphatically believes that you need to learn something new every day!
Automotive Training Programs at Lincoln Tech prepare you for more than just basic maintenance like changing oil and balancing tires. You build hands-on skills for working with the latest diagnostic technology and the on-board computers that are common in today’s cars, trucks, and SUVs. And you’re supported with professional development – “soft skills” training – that helps you build a résumé, learn to dress for success, and take on a professional’s mindset. Lincoln Tech’s Career Services team will even coach you on how to respond to questions during a job interview!
Follow Anthony Christiano’s lead, and challenge yourself to advance your knowledge and rev up your skills! Begin training for a career you’ll love at Lincoln Tech!
