Matco Tools & Lincoln Tech Partnership
“Matco has become recognized as the standard tool choice in the auto industry,” says Scott Shaw, Lincoln Tech’s President and CEO. “We want our students to have industry-recognized professional grade tools to proudly display as a symbol of their Lincoln education.”
Lincoln Tech campuses will receive tool kits for use by students in hands-on training programs for Automotive Technology, Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology, Diesel & Truck Technology, and Heavy Equipment Technology. Through Matco vouchers, students can also purchase their first entry-level tool kit at a nearly 50% discount from Matco.
The opportunity for students with this new partnership with Matco is exciting on all levels. “We’re giving students a head start in their career,” says Lou Vendrell, Corporate Director of Education for Lincoln Tech’s Automotive and Skilled Trades programs. “This is another example of how Lincoln Tech is aligning our company goals with industry-recognized brands and providers.”
Tim Gilmore, President of Matco Tools, says Matco is equally excited to expand their cooperation with Lincoln Tech. “We are proud to provide our high quality tools and equipment products to Lincoln students,” Gilmore says. “Matco’s goal is to provide all technicians with the tools they need to get the job done effectively and efficiently, and we couldn’t be more excited to offer our products to students just starting out in the [transportation] industry. We look forward to building long-lasting relationships with Lincoln Tech students as they grow in the classroom and in their careers.”
Many campuses have already received their Matco kits and by Spring 2017, all remaining Lincoln automotive and skilled trade campuses will have been outfitted with these professional grade kits. Lincoln’s commitment to its students with this agreement to Matco will ensure graduates are well-prepared to enter their chosen field after graduation. The hands-on training with Matco tools will allow students to have the experience needed to overcome the skills gap and stand out to employers after graduation.
