Environmental changes produce a need for highly trained HVAC technicians that can keep climate control systems in top working order. This includes installing and maintaining efficient systems that keep occupants safe and comfortable, and respect the health of the environment at the same time. Lincoln Tech's HVAC program introduces students to the Green Technology that responds to the growing need to leave as light an environmental footprint as possible. As a school that incorporates Energy Auditing courses from the Green Mechanical Council, students will be learning advancements in technology that round out their technical training and marketability to climate control employers. This has generated a projected demand for almost 5,700 new HVAC positions in Connecticut between 2020 and 20301.
Inside our expansive HVAC facility, which features the FW Webb Green Technology Room, you’ll train on the equipment technicians regularly service throughout homes and businesses. You’ll build skills working with climate control systems, refrigeration systems and more. Our HVAC training program in New Britain has been enhanced to include more training hours and a greater focus on “Green” HVAC concepts such as energy efficiency, energy auditing, and solar thermal/geothermal technologies.
Your training will give you hands-on experience working with the same types of tools used every day by the pros:
- Thermal imaging cameras
- Volt ohmmeters
- Wire strippers
- Manifold gauge sets
- Low loss fittings
- Specialized pliers and screwdrivers
Graduates from the HVAC training program will be prepared to sit for six key industry certification exams related to Green Technologies, energy auditing and more. The same Graduates can also applying for the specialized Hussmann partnership training program that can lead to even greater career opportunities2.
