The Denver Car Show Tradition
Lincoln Tech’s Denver, CO campus is rooted in its community as deeply as it is in automotive training. For more than 50 years, the “Rock of the West” – originally Denver Auto-Diesel College – has been a fixture for hands-on auto and diesel training in The Mile-High City. Home of the Denver car show, it’s here that students can take part in Automotive Technology, Collision Repair & Refinishing Technology, Diesel & Truck Technology and more – including the newest option, an Automotive course that includes specific training on Audi manufacturer technologies! Students will now have the opportunity to train on Audi cars, highly popular in today’s market.
“We are very excited about this new program with Audi,” says Theresa Simmons, Lincoln Tech’s Campus Marketing and Events Coordinator. “This is a fantastic partnership with Audi to provide premium level training in Audi specific technology.”
The success of this campus can be partly attributed to nurtured ties within the community. The Denver campus is proud to have a relationship with the Colorado Association of Commerce & Industry as well as many other local groups interested in the best for their community. Lincoln Tech students and staff frequently take part in various local charity events such as hosting a food bank benefit and the Annual Christmas Caravan for kids, which benefits the US Marine Core Toys for Tots charity. There is always a huge turn out from the community and this year three 7-ton military trucks were filled with toy donations!
Annual Hot Rod Denver Car Show Draws Thousands
Another tradition that brings the Lincoln Tech campus and the Denver community together is the Annual Hot Rod Car show. This year marked the 5th year of the car show and it was the biggest success to date. A record 857 cars turned up along with more than 10,000 spectators!
“It’s the first car show of the season,” Simmons says. “Everyone is excited to get out and show off their cars after the winter. Once they show a car at the show, they want to come back every year!”
This year's show had so much excitement surrounding it, even the guests got in on the action. Included in those guests is a potential future Lincoln Tech student, who walked the show giving very insightful commentary. What you wouldn't know is, he's only 7 years old!
This year, a new feature at the Hot Rod Denver Car Show was an aerial view filmed by a professional drone operator, Todd Gschwend– you can get a full appreciation for the scope and size of the campus event when you check out this bird’s eye view!
Exciting things are brewing at the Denver campus! Lincoln Tech remains committed to its students and the community by providing the best instruction with the ever-changing modern automotive industry.
